About the event
Once again, we are responding to the urgent needs of the homeless in Marion County, FL and need your help.
BAgs To Care for the Homeless (B.A.T.C.H.) is an initiative led by ACCOLADE Celebrations, Inc. designed to address the needs of people experiencing homelessness. The program assembles and distributes gallon-sized Ziploc bags containing resource information and essential items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, deodorant, and more. Filled bags are distributed to shelters, churches, and social services organizations serving the homeless population. For its next B.A.T.C.H. event, the organization is requesting community support to help fill another 500 bags.
High school students and youth groups seeking service-learning hours are invited to volunteer at the bag-filling event on Saturday, October 18, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club of Marion County (800 SW 12th Ave, Ocala, FL).
