New York City is one of the fashion capitals of the world. That’s why people from all over travel to the city in February for Fashion Week, where designers like Marc Jacobs, Giorgio Armani, Donna Karan, Donatella Versace, and more, debut their upcoming season’s collection. However, fashion continues well beyond Fashion Week. Walk down any city street or into a restaurant, and you’re bound to see an outfit you want to copy. One of the best ways to keep up with the latest styles of clothing and to know how to dress for any occasion is to look at websites like Vogue and Harper's Bazaar.
What does it mean then, to be dressed in your right mind? You may have heard the phrase used to describe people who are calm, reasonable, and sane. People dressed in their right minds would never climb into a lion enclosure at a zoo, nor jump from a plane without a parachute. Being dressed in your right mind is everything. It affects your mood and your view of life. It helps you to tackle life’s tough challenges with greater ease. It’s a state of well-being that takes a lifetime to master along with plenty of divine intervention. To not be dressed in your right mind might lead to bad things, like depression, sickness and even insanity.
How do you know you are dressed in your right mind? There’s clear evidence. You’re more confident about how to respond to situations. Little things don’t bother you as much. You aren’t devastated by stuff outside of your control. You see disappointments as learning opportunities. You rebound quickly from setbacks. You have the capability to calibrate your experiences and view them as less finite. Your focus is less on yourself and more on the well-being of others. What’s more, being dressed in your right mind is attractive. People will like how it looks on you.
Take care to guard your mind as you guard your heart. We have control over what we allow our minds to be exposed to and what we put in it. Your mind can be poisoned, tainted, and desensitized to think untrue things are true or normal. Always ask yourself if the thought makes sense, if it's likely, and if there's evidence to support it. And surround yourself with right-minded people.
The Acts of Kindness Awards is one way to seek out where you can find people dressed in their right minds. The event recognizes individuals who are ordinary people who have committed their time and energy to improving the lives of those in their communities. They each have phenomenal stories. I invite you to visit https://www.accoladecelebrations.com to see pictures of previous award recipients, and to stay tuned for the next Acts of Kindness Awards. #actsofkindnessawards #followus #stayuptodate #celebratingexcellence
